Tell Aussie story at Singapore show

Australian sporting goods companies looking to expand into Asia should check out the second annual Sports and Fitness Asia Conference and Expo in Singapore.

Comprising an exhibition, workshop and conference, the 2015 event is expected to attract more than 8,000 trade visitors and over 200 exhibitors worldwide.

It will be held on June 11-13 at Singapore Expo, concurrent with the Southeast Asian Games.

Report organisers, the sports industry is thriving in the Asia Pacific, growing at a rate of 6.5 percent and estimated to reach US$28.5 billion by 2015.

In Singapore, the sports industry is projected to contribute S$2 billion to GDP by 2015, reports the Singapore Economic Development Board Reports in 2013.

Next year will be an important year for sports in the region, with the 28th Southeast Asian Games, one of the biggest regional sports events, taking place at the same time in Singapore.

To be held from June 5-16 2015, the SEA Games are expected to attract more than 7,000 athletes and officials to participate.                                      .
