Origin 3 pulls in fans nationwide
Nine Network's broadcast of State of Origin 3 collected an average national audience of 3.66 million people.
The July 12 battle royal pulled in 2.49 million viewers in the five major capital cities and 1.12 million in regional areas, according to OzTam data.
And the figures are reported not to include those who watched the Maroons win so well in pubs and clubs around the country.
Even the AFL heartland of Melbourne recorded almost 400,000 viewers of the epic rugby league battle, which is the most watched Origin match ever.
However, the decider rated as the second most watched show this year, the winner being the men's final at the Australian Open in January.
