ISPO to launch summer trade fair in China

Messe München reports it is reacting to market demand to launch the first summer ISPO in China in 2015 with dates and location still to be decided.

 The desire of the industry for a summer platform in China has been expressed increasingly at ISPO winter in Beijing over the past ten years.

In June 2013, Messe München came closer to meeting the demand with the ISPO Academy in Shanghai, where almost 250 industry representatives were on hand to discuss the future market in China.

Chief Executive Officer of Messe München, Klaus Dittrich, reports "It has become clear that the industry wants a second platform to do justice to the dynamic developments of the Chinese sporting goods market in the action, sport style, watersports and performance sements.

“Retailers are also developing further from specialist retailers to multi-segment retailers,” he says.

Messe München is involving exhibitors and visitors in the decision-making process to find a suitable date and site.
