Groms all Weet-Bix kids as sponsor signs up

Surfing Australia names Sanitarium Weet-Bix as major SurfGroms sponsor for the next three years.

Since SurfGroms was launched in October 2011, more than 40,000 Australian children have experienced the thrill of surfing for the first time - offering those aged five-12 years old an opportunity to learn to surf while developing strong ocean awareness and beach safety skills.

Programmes are available through the Surfing Australia Surf Schools Network with more than 80 delivery centres around the country.

Groms can learn how to enjoy the current big thing - Stand-up Paddleboarding.

The Australian Sports Commission's Sporting Schools will include the delivery of Weet-Bix SurfGroms before, during or after school.

Surfing Australia chief executive Andrew Stark says partnership, "We are absolutely ecstatic to be partnering with Weet-Bix, also backed by major support sponsors Quiksilver and Roxy, and new support partner sunscreen brand Banana Boat."

Colourful watersports brand Wahu is also a sponsor for the eight -12 hour surfing programme delivered by licensed Surfing Australia Surf Schools and their instructors, including understanding surf conditions, surf etiquette, first aid and rescue skills built into five achievement levels.
