ASICS runs into global growth

Running shoes and apparel have led the sales growth in most regions as ASICS reports an encouraging quarter ended September 30,  reports SGI Europe.

Domestic net sales inJapan inched up, in spite of weak sales of baseball wear and equipment.

Growth in overseas sales was stronger at 3.1 percent, thanks to strong sales of running shoes in the Americas, Europe and other regions.

Asics Europe delivered an overall net sales increase of eight percent between January and June compared with the same period a year earlier.

Growth was mainly driven by the running apparel category and by footwear for “core performance sports,” with Germany and France providing double-digit growth.
