ASGA talkfest to examine ‘playing field’
The Australian Sporting Goods Association promises many exciting speakers at the joint conference, to be held next week, co-hosted with the Australian Sports Technologies Network.
This is the first time ASGA has shared the honours and reports that the event is targetting sports retailers, wholesalers, researchers, NSOs and entrepreneurs.
The conference will be held at Moonee Valley Racing Club, Melbourne, on Monday October 14 with the theme, ‘The New Sports Playing Field’,.
Reports executive director Shannon Walker, this is a reflection of the increasing convergence between sports product innovation, sports digital innovation and the sports consumer.
International keynote speaker is Dr Erez Morag, described as the Nike ‘Game-Changer’ Morag contributed to a four start-ups heading research for Nike headquarters in Oregon from 1998-2011.
Other speakers from the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Institute of Sport, the AFL, Tennis Australia, Fox Sports, Catapult Sport, Fusion Sport, DMC Sport, SportsGeek and RMIT University will contribute to ten sessions across the day.
The programme will explore the opportunities and the challenges that exist for Australia’s sport technologies and sports retailing industry. including how to launch a sports start-up within your organisation;
the future of sports retailing; and new technologies changing the face of sport.
