Adidas eyes record soccer sales

Football specialist adidas is reported to be forecasting record sales in  2014, when the World Cup is held in Brazil.

The brand  – a main sponsor and supplier of the official ball as well supplying the gear for referees and staff  – expects expects a strong boost in sales, especially in Latin America, with double-digit growth.

The launch of new Cup products, including those for teams equippped by adidas, is expected to push sales well over those in 2010, the year of the World Cup in South Africa when turnover related to the sport amounted to approximately €1.5 billion.
